William Lynn Cook Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Lynn Cook, 75, of Stephens City died Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Winchester Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1941 in Warren County, VA, the son of Eston and Helen Owens Cook. Professionally, he worked in food production and retired from Rich Foods. His primary hobby was picking and he took great joy in re-purposing unwanted treasures. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Hanes and her husband Scott of Winchester, Connie Fox and her husband Gary of Stephens City, and Melissa Silva of Winchester; six grandchildren, Jenna Hanes, Sara Evans, Donnie Fox, Joshua Fox, Billy Jo Painter, and Lucas Silva; siblings, Robert Cook, Betty Cook, Shirley Whitacre, Ed Gue, Eston Lee Gue, Clevey Gue, and Walter Gue. His first wife, Faye Loretta Cook, his second wife, Faye E. Cook, granddaughter, Amanda Painter; sisters, Pauline Alizer and Nancy Madagan; brothers, Howard Cook and Charles Berklite are deceased. A funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Phelps Funeral Chapel 311 Hope Drive Winchester officiated by Pastor Chuck R. Davis, Jr. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Lucas Silva, Scott Hanes, Steve Cook, Donald Cook, Jimmy Cook, and Gary Fox. Friends will be received Tuesday 6-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Cook's wishes were for memorials to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000, Department 142 Memphis, TN 38105.
