John Marshall deButts Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Marshall deButts, 84, of Winchester, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Winchester Medical Center. He was born September 30, 1931 in Herndon, VA the son of Henry Grafton and Lillian E. Holsinger deButts. At the age of 7, his family moved to Sterling, VA and at the age of 15 the family moved to Hamilton, VA where he remained. He owned and operated a carpet and rug cleaning and carpet sales business for many years. When he retired in 1996, he and his wife moved to Winchester, VA. He is survived by his wife Patsy L. deButts, one daughter Kelly McCord and her husband Michael McCord; two grandchildren, Megan and Ian McCord all of Gainesville, VA and a brother, Arthur deButts of Winchester and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and seven brothers. A Graveside service will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Hillsboro Cemetery, 37125 Charles Town Pike, Purcellville, VA with Pastor Chris Ranson officiating. Casket Bearers will be Michael McCord, Grafton deButts, Hunter deButts, Kenny Smith, Craig Damewood and Shawn Pugh. Friends will be received on Monday from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Phelps Funeral Chapel, 311 Hope Drive, Winchester. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice 333 W.
