Kathleen Waters Sudduth

Kathleen Waters Sudduth, 91, of Winchester, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in Winchester Medical Center. She was born August 4, 1920 in Luray, VA, the daughter of James Ernest and Adria Susan Judd Waters. She married Richard Mason Sudduth, December 3, 1938 in Page County, VA. Mr. Sudduth died March 23, 1986. Mrs. Sudduth had been a receptionist at Winchester Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church where she served on the Women’s Missionary Council, taught Sunday School and Bible School and volunteered at Camp Grace. Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Ann Miller and her husband Lee of Bel Air, MD, Sandra Kay Ramey and her husband Roger of Charles Town, WV and Mary Susan Shade and her husband Doug of Spout Spring, VA; six grandchildren, Patricia Stansfield of Phoenix, AZ, Pamela Grim and her husband Pat of Winchester, Tracy Miller of Bel Air, MD, Robyn Adams-Clark and her husband Larry of Gore, VA, Matthew Adams and his wife Jennifer of Tampa, FL, and Hannah Gilman and her husband Mike of Lynchburg, VA; eight great-grandchildren, Melissa Brady and her husband Brandon of Vine Grove, KY, Lyndsi Grim of Winchester, Quinn Clark of Martinsburg, WV, Brady Adams and Garrett Clark both of Gore, Trevor Grim of Winchester, Emma Sweeney of Winchester and Kai Smith of Lynchburg, VA two great-great grandchildren, Madelyn Kathleen and Cecilia Ann Brady of Vine Grove, KY and a brother, Loring W. Waters of Winchester. Mrs. Sudduth was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Amos, Arthur, Ralph and Alva Waters and a daughter, Nancy Carol Miller. A funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. in Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church, Winchester with Rev. Darrel Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Shenandoah Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mike Waters, Dennis Waters, Brady Adams, Larry Clark, Trevor Grim and Patrick Grim. Honorary pallbearers will be Loring Waters and Dale Stickley. Friends will be received on Monday from noon until the time of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund of Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church, 1025 Cedar Creek Grade, Winchester, VA 22602. Arrangements are by Michael R. Phelps, Winchester.
