Mary “Gladys” Richmond, 90, of Stephens City, died Friday, June 12, 2015 in Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Winchester. She was born September 3, 1924 in Clarke County the daughter of Charles and Grace Carroll Edwards. She was married to Charles “Buddy” Jenkins and later to Ernest Richmond, they are both deceased. Mrs. Richmond worked for over thirty years at O’Sullivan Corporation. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Stephens City and a past V.F.W. member. She enjoyed dancing, was an amazing cook and loved her church and family. Surviving are a son, Ray Goode, Sr. and his wife Pam of Winchester; two grandsons, Ray Goode, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Woodstock and Jason Fraley and his wife Kathryn; a granddaughter, Kendra Smith and her husband Mike of Strasburg; ten great-grandchildren, Alana Smith, Kenley Smith, Macy Smith, Jacob Kimble, Benjamin Kimble, Levi Kimble, Evan, Britney, Sarita and her husband Anthony and Emily and a special friend, Al Masters of Stephens City. A sister, Frances Lake and three brothers, James Edwards, Joseph Edwards and Charles Edwards are all deceased. A funeral service will be Wednesday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. in Phelps Funeral Chapel, 311 Hope Drive, Winchester with Pastor Raymond H. Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. Casket bearers will be Deacon Charles Cooper, Robert Douglas, Mark Hillyard, Mike Smith, Mike Doherty, J.D. Combs and Patrick Anderson. Honorary bearers will be Deacon Randolph Sloane and Deacon James Sloane. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral chapel.
