John Alva Heyman, 78, of Winchester died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at his home. He was born June 28, 1940 in Amherst, OH the son of Harvey and Sybil Leonard Heyman. He was married to Sandra Proctor Heyman for 20 years. Professionally, he owned Heyman Trucking Company, JH Truck Repair and Northern Virginia Trash Service. He was an independent truck driver and in his later years, worked for Wal-Mart in the Lawn & Garden Department. He worshipped at Round Hill United Methodist Church. He will be remembered for his kind, generous spirit and for his enormous sense of humor, even publishing his own book of jokes. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sybil Higgens of Frisco TX., Tami Barton and her husband Douglas of Brownstown, PA, Joanne Williams and her husband Gary of Brunswick, MD., Jennifer Seate and her husband Adam of Goldsboro, NC., Laura Hicks and her husband Gary of Winchester, Paul Wiley and his wife, Lee of Strasburg, and Angela Wiley and her husband Charlie, also of Strasburg; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 19th at Round Hill United Methodist Church, 2993 Northwestern Pike, Winchester officiated by Reverend Larry Craddock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
