Helen Carper Licklider Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Helen Carper Licklider, 94, of Winchester, died Friday, February 17, 2012 in a local nursing home. She was born March 20, 1917 in Winchester, the daughter of Clarence and Nora Lillis Carper. She was married to Marsden John Licklider who died in 1956. Mrs. Licklider had worked in food service at Sacred Heart Academy, Tip Top Pizza Shop and the Back Room Lounge. She had also been a loving babysitter for several local children. Mrs. Licklider was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Surviving are two daughters, Rebecca M. Licklider and Helen E. Fisher both of Winchester; two sons, William Alfred Licklider of Stephens City and John Michael Licklider of Frederick County; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Harry Carper and Charles Carper and a sister, Eva Brown Pingley are all deceased. A funeral service will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel, 1260 Front Royal Pike, Winchester with Rev. Michael Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Licklider, Joe Licklider, Charles Brown, Dave Conlon, Dennis Carper and Lenny Boyce. Friends will be received on Monday, February 20, 2012, from 7:00p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Michael R. Phelps, Winchester.
