Hazel Marie Hussey, 89, of Stephens City, passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 in Shenandoah Memorial Hospital, Woodstock. She was born February 22, 1923 in Petersburg, WV the daughter of Adam and Zella Ours Smith. Surviving are two daughters, Eleanor Hoover of Brandywine, WV and June Parnell and her husband Ronald of Stephens City; two sisters, Pauline Nichols and her husband Paul of Winchester and Bertie Manning of Baltimore, MD; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, Eldon and Steve; a daughter, Frankie; five brothers, Glen, Payton, Lester, Paul and Raymond and a sister, Esta are all deceased. Her first husband, Edward Cowger; her second husband, Calvin Neikirk; and her third husband, Gerald R. Hussey are all deceased. Mrs. Hussey was an active member of the Stephens City United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose. A funeral service will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in Stephens City United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Butcher and Rev. Waverly Reames officiating. Burial will be on Thursday in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Brooklyn, MD with Pastor Tim Dowell officiating. Casketbearers will be Mrs. Hussey’s granddaughters.
