Alice Alger Moore

September 21, 1931 - February 13, 2022

Alice Virginia Alger Moore, 90, entered heaven on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Hilltop Inspirit Senior Living surrounded by her family. She was born in Page County on September 21, 1931. The daughter of Frank and Dessie Kite Alger. She grew up in Millwood, Va and had 6 brothers and 1 sister that preceded her in death. She married Joseph Martin Moore on December 27, 1947 at the Berryville Baptist Church, and they had 74 wonderful years together. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Grace Brethren Church and last attended The Calvary Church of the Brethren. Family was everything to her. One of her greatest joys was caring for her grandchildren as well as other children over the years. She always loved a new baby in the family. She also loved flowers, gardening, quilting, cooking, road trips with her husband and family vacations to the Outer Banks. Surviving with her husband are 3 sons, Garry Moore and his wife Ruth, Michael Moore and his wife Karen, Frank Moore and his wife Janet. 2 daughters, Tammi Delawder and her husband Todd, Judi Hepler and her husband David. 10 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Phelps Funeral Home Chapel, 311 Hope Dr., Winchester, VA, Officiated by Pastor Jonathan Martino. A private burial will be held at a later date. Friends and family will be received 1 hour prior to the Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.
